“+- (plus/minus)” is a search for balance and creating positive space from the negative space. Glass lends itself very well for this purpose due to its translucency. By removing or cutting the glass away with a diamond saw a cavity is left that gives the impression of a solid within the material. Gold foil was used to accentuate the interior.
The entire work balances by suspended cables and is subject to external influences, such as wind and touch, to “activate” it as a pendulum.
